Political season means misinformation everywhere

Before you share, check first. Fake news and incitement spread fastest when emotions run high. Learn how to spot information you can trust and protect yourself from hoaxes.

  • Check the original source — who said it, and when?
  • Look for confirmation from more than one independent source.
  • Pause before forwarding — strong emotion is usually a warning sign.
Think first, share later. Content that makes you instantly angry or afraid is often designed to provoke a reaction. Take a moment to verify.
